Anthem 'The Dove descending breaks the air' is een seriële compositie voor koor a capella van Igor Stravinsky op een tekst van T.S. Eliot, gecomponeerd in 1962.
De inslag van de poëzie van Dante kwam in de eerste decennia van de vorige eeuw in het werk van twee Amerikanen: Pound en Eliot. 'Inslag' kan ook in andere betekenis verstaan worden: bij Eliot verscheen hij in de schering van zijn eigen poëzie, in The Waste Land, en, ruim twintig jaar later (in een schitterende passage over de apocalyptische bombardementen op Londen) in 'Little Gidding' uit Four Quartets.
